Biography: Mr. Schalk became a partner of the firm at the end of 2004. During his tenure here, Mr. Schalk has been an instrumental part of a number of the firm's high profile litigations, including: Lennox Lewis, et al. v. Hasim Rahman, et al., Case No. 01-Civ-4013 (S.D.N.Y.) (Cedarbaum, D.J) (court granted a preliminary injunction in the favor of the firm's client, Lennox Lewis, allowing him to fight for and regain the world boxing heavyweight title); Lou DiBella, et al. v. Bernard Hopkins, Case No. 01-Civ-11779 (S.D.N.Y.) (Chin, D.J.) (resulting in a successful libel verdict for the firm's client against the undisputed middleweight world champion, including a punitive damages award of $500,000); and Soltesz-Benetton v. General Media Communications, Inc., Case No. 02-Civ-3438 (S.D.N.Y.) (Chin, D.J.)
